There have been many changes since I last made a blog post. I have many things on Blogger to figure out yet but hopefully I'll get there!
I recently finished my second year in business, after working for someone else for 31 years it still feels strange to be on my own schedule and pick my own jobs. I really enjoy what I do and appreciate all the calls that I get from friends, people I know and all the referrals.
We never know where the path will lead to the next day but it is always a good to have another day!
Our favorite Helen got to spend the night. Her request for the night was to make a pedestal bed
For her new baby,
complete with new mattress and curtains.
Had all 5 grands over for lunch😍 There is a lot of energy around that table!
Always nice to get up to the cabin for a night! It's a bit quieter in the north woods of Wisconsin.
In my first year smaller handyman jobs took up 40-50% of my time, the second year has changed that to 20-30%. The heating and air conditioning work has gotten much busier.
It was a great year for work!
Many furnace replacements
Lots of repair and maintenance jobs
Many AC replacements
Many garage/shop heaters
water heater replacements
And many other fix-it/repair jobs. With everyone home in 2020 there was an endless list
of projects in everyones home!
In 2019 we had almost 100 days in the airstream. In 2020 that changed to 23 days because of a busy work schedule and the campgrounds were full.
In 2021 we hope to get a few more days out adventuring with Nellie.
We have been busy with quite a few updates for our fast approaching trip to warmer climates⛺
Painting by Mary L. Olson in Grand Marais 2018
New silverware and utensil storage
Temperature controlled MaxAir fan.
more efficient, quieter and rainproof
Rollout drawers in the pantry
His and her adjustable table, Jan needs her own space!
New vanity top, new sink(made from salad bowl) and shower attachment. The shower faucet was a separate fixture before but was located behind the toilet and was easy to bump when sitting down! while you might think this is a time saver to use the toilet and shower at the same time, usually it is just a bit shocking😟😂
It is fun to tell people that Nellie is a senior citizen at 67 years old and proud to say American made!
We have been her caretaker for 13 years now and have adventured with her for 32,000 miles.
North Padre Island beach camping
Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado
So many places to explore!
Life is good
