New States for Nellie-Mississippi

We've been fortunate to have good roads and pretty easy driving. Every trip we take there is always someone trying to cut us off or wanting us to go faster! The closer we get to the gulf the busier it gets! We avoid cities as much as possible! This may be hard to do along the coast of Florida. We have always been blessed and felt safe with our travels, last week we were reminded how precious life is. It was a perfect traveling day, we were on a smaller 2 lane highway when we came upon a very bad crash involving a semi and a smaller suv that didn't stop for a stop sign. We said many prayers for the truck driver and thanked our guardian angels!

We had a great lunch break with the big guys and also got to talk about Nellie's journey with one of them.

Made it to Paul B Johnson State park in Southern Mississippi.
We talked to many nice local people and asked about visiting a couple local cities, Laurel and Hattiesburg, they all gave us the same response "um you probably don't want to go there" they said they were not very safe. I don't think we have ever had that response before!

Jake was very happy to cool off in the lake after a long walk! He doesn't care for the frozen stuff at home!

We were able to spend one night in this great spot! Then because it is getting busier in these parks farther south we had to move for the weekend, they are fully booked!

This spot was ok also, we did get our own pavilion!
We had the pavilion to ourselves and we got to watch all of the weekend travelers come in and out, like watching a parade! We think it's funny some of names that the manufactures put on the different rigs, like hurricane or other natural disasters, seems like it would be asking for bad karma to visit you!

So far we have only seen one other airstream, feeling kind of lonely😢

After the weekend crowd left we moved back to the lake, the park is only around 25% full now and very quiet. We can change spots in about 30 minutes and nice to have another view!
Big and colorful ducks here!

Hello Bear

This sign was hanging at the entrance to a pizza place we went to. They also had a US flag on the wall, good music and a table full of local police next to us! Pizza was not very good but the rest made up for it!

We went from 85 and sunny with a nice breeze to 37 degrees, winter coats/gloves and rain for a day.

COLD🥶
It was good day to heat up the oven for some fresh chocolate chip cookies!

A perfect rain day excursion and free! Quite a tribute to our military and what they have endured for our freedom!

Amazing that this helicopter can fly itself but can also carry a small tank and salvage downed fighter jets!

This was a great museum!

Time to leave this place to find a new adventure🏕
Life is great

    1. It was very good and not busy! We had time to read some of the memorials, pretty amazing what some of those heros went through!
