A chilly hike in Willow River State Park

We had a great walk/snowshoe hike this morning, the temperature was a balmy -8 when we started.

Jan and sister Pam(PJ) and myself, too cold for the pups Jake and Henri.

Crazy ladies on the trail!

⛄COLD⛄
This is a new trail this year, I think it may be my favorite trail in the park!
About 4 miles round trip from the boat launch to the falls.

This was the first below zero day, by the end of the week the falls should be pretty well frozen over.

Good thing that they have a sign!

They installed about 25-30 new fish cribs.

The new dam in the park.

It was a great hike and just the right distance, a couple of steeper hills to go up and down but pretty easy with ice cleats or snowshoes!

 Life is great😎

  1. Get your gps and mark the location of those cribs now!

    1. I have really wanted to get the fishing pole working again, it's been a long time! They just filled the lake back up last year after being drained for around 5 years, not sure how long it takes for the fish to settle back in?
